location
The holiday home is located in the canton of Jura in the northwestern part of Switzerland. The area is called the Franches Montagnes and is known for its park-like forests and stud farms. The holidaymakers live at 1050 metres above sea level on the Chaumont hill, surrounded by a few farmhouses, horse pastures and forest. The view sweeps over the wide hills of the Jura.
An official bridlepath as well as hiking trails and cross-country skiing tracks are just over 200 metres away. Walks, hikes, jogging tours, bicycle tours or cross-country ski tours are possible directly from the house. In summer the nearby Etang de la Gruère invites you to swim in the water. The moor lake is situated in the middle of a unique nature reserve, only 15 minutes walk from the holiday home. The nearest golf course can be reached by car in about 20 minutes.
The Franches-Montagnes are part of the largest and most fascinating cross-country skiing area in Switzerland. The trails lead through deep forests and remote valleys. For cross-country skiers looking for peace and solitude in addition to sporting activities, there is a huge network of pistes available.
Those who stay overnight on the Chaumont will experience absolute rest. During the day, one enjoys a view that is unusual for Switzerland. On the south side there is practically no other house visible. The house is located 5 km outside of Saignelégier, a regional center with good shopping facilities, an indoor swimming pool with wellness area and thermal bath and other recreational facilities.
